Buildxact is a genuinely good platform for a small residential builder: takeoff, estimating, purchase orders, supplier catalogues, scheduling and job management, with unlimited users, from $199 a month. If you build custom homes, that is a fair price for what it does. If you renovate kitchens, bathrooms and basements with a crew of one to ten, most of it is a dashboard you will never open. Estiquik does the renovator's part — takeoff off the PDF, seven priced templates, the estimate that becomes the invoice, the contract and the change orders — for $29.99, with Canadian accounts billed in Canadian dollars.
Buildxact charges for depth — every plan has unlimited users, and the price steps up with job management and controls. Estiquik charges for what a renovation actually generates, and Crew is one number for up to ten people.

Card processing on Estiquik is Stripe's own standard rate (2.9% + 30¢; 2.9% + 30¢ CAD in Canada), charged by Stripe into your own account — Estiquik adds nothing on top. Buildxact's payment handling is not compared here because we could not verify its fees from public material.
Everything here is taken from each company's public website. Where we could not verify something, we say so.

So nobody finds out after switching: no purchase orders, no supplier catalogues or live material pricing, no Gantt schedule or dependencies, no per-user permissions, no Xero, and Crew stops at ten people. Regional pricing covers the US and Canada only. If you build new homes rather than renovate existing ones, Buildxact is the better tool and we would rather you knew now.
Clients and a price list move as spreadsheets. Quotes, jobs and purchase orders do not transfer between any two systems.
Export or copy your client list to CSV — any file with a header row (name, email, phone, address) imports. How the importer reads columns.
A spreadsheet of item, unit and price imports to the Price list page and fills an estimate's unit prices in a click.
Pick kitchen, bathroom, basement or one of the others, check the regional rates against your last job, adjust, send with an Approve button or a signing link.
Attach the PDF to the estimate, set the scale, trace the rooms, count the tags, send the quantities to the lines. Connect Stripe and the invoice carries a Pay button.
Part of Starter, and the 14-day trial needs no card. If you would rather not do it yourself, email the files to support@estiquik.com and we will do the import with you on a call, free.
For a renovation contractor who needs takeoff, priced estimates, invoicing, e-signature, contracts, change orders, expenses and QuickBooks — yes. For a builder who needs purchase orders, supplier catalogue pricing, a Gantt schedule, unlimited users and job-management workflows — no. Buildxact is built for that and Estiquik is not.
As published on buildxact.com on 7 September 2026, in USD: Go at $0 with limited AI credits, Foundation at $199 a month ($169 annual), Pro at $399 ($339 annual) and Master at $599 ($509 annual), all with unlimited users. AI add-ons are $99 to $149 a month each. Check Buildxact's current page; prices change.
Yes, Go, at $0, with AI estimating credits, proposals and Home Depot ordering. Digital takeoff starts on Foundation at $199. Estiquik's Free plan builds and prints three estimates; takeoff is on Pro at $29.99.
Buildxact's is deeper and feeds assemblies and catalogues, with an AI assistant as an add-on. Estiquik's measures areas, wall runs with height and sides, and counts from the drawing's tags, and sends quantities to the estimate with prices left for your price list. For a residential set of a few sheets they do the same job; for a full custom-home set Buildxact does more. What Estiquik's takeoff does, in detail.
Because the products are different sizes. Buildxact's price covers purchasing, catalogues, job management and unlimited users for a builder's office. Estiquik's covers what a one-to-ten-person renovator does at the kitchen table, and nothing else. If you use the extra depth, Buildxact is worth its price; if you do not, you are paying for a dashboard.
