Estiquik is estimating and invoicing software for renovation contractors. It is built, run and supported by Ted Kam Consulting Ltd, a small software company in Ontario, Canada. There is no venture fund behind us and no call centre — the people who write the software are the people who answer the email.

Ted Kam Consulting Ltd builds vertical software: narrow, self-serve tools aimed at one trade or one kind of small business at a time, rather than a single general-purpose platform that tries to fit everybody badly. Estiquik is the product aimed at renovation and home-improvement contractors.
Every product we run sits on the same foundation — Google Firebase for authentication and data, Stripe for payments, and static hosting with no servers of our own to misconfigure. That is a deliberate choice: it keeps the operating cost low enough that we can charge contractor-sized prices and still be here in five years, and it means security work done once protects every product we ship.
Why we built Estiquik
Estimating software has a gap in the middle. At one end are spreadsheets and paper — free, endlessly flexible, and the reason so many jobs get underbid by a forgotten line. At the other end are construction platforms priced and built for general contractors running dozens of crews, with an onboarding call before you are allowed to see a number.
Estiquik is built for the contractor in between: the one- to ten-person renovation business that needs a defensible estimate in front of a homeowner tonight, an invoice that gets paid, and a record of what the job actually cost. That is why the app opens on a blank estimate rather than a dashboard, why the price is on the pricing page, and why you can put your own numbers in without asking us to enable anything.
How we work
- Ship narrow, then deepen. We would rather do estimating, invoicing and job costs properly than add a shallow version of everything.
- Publish the price. Plans and what is in them are on the site. No quote process, no per-seat surprise, and a documented notice period before any price change.
- Your data is yours. Estiquik exports to CSV and JSON, and imports from the tools you may be leaving. We do not sell customer data or use your estimates to train anything.
- Say what is missing. Our security page lists the protections we do not have yet, by name. We would rather lose a sale than win one on a claim that is not true.
- No invented proof. Where you do not see customer logos, quotes or user counts on this site, it is because we will not publish numbers we cannot stand behind.
