🍁 Built in Ontario · billed in Canadian dollars

Construction estimating software for Canada, in Canadian dollars.

Most estimating apps a Canadian contractor finds are American: prices in USD, tax that means state sales tax, and an invoice that has never heard of HST or an e-Transfer. Estiquik is made by a small Ontario company for the renovation contractor who quotes in CAD, charges GST or HST, and gets paid by card or e-Transfer — with the estimating, invoicing and plan takeoff in one plan.

Free plan, then CA$24.99/month Every province and territory Holdback on progress invoices
Who makes it. Estiquik is built, run and supported by Ted Kam Consulting Ltd, registered in Ontario. The people who write the software answer the email. It is an independent product and not a government app; tax rates are taken from published CRA and provincial sources and are editable.
What it costs here. Starter CA$24.99/month (CA$249.99/year), Pro CA$34.99 (CA$349.99), Crew CA$79.99 (CA$799.99) for up to ten people. Charged in CAD by Stripe — not converted. Start by 31 October 2026 and the rate is held for 24 months.
What it does. Priced renovation templates scaled to your province, plan takeoff off a PDF drawing, estimates that become invoices, e-signature, change orders, progress billing with holdback, expenses with receipts, QuickBooks Online sync.

Sales tax filled in for your province

Pick your province on the Account page and every estimate and invoice starts with the right rate and the right label. Both stay editable, and the tax can apply to the whole document or to materials only.

Rates are the published base rates from the Canada Revenue Agency's GST/HST pages and the provincial agencies (Quebec's QST is administered by Revenu Québec), as listed in our help centre. Whether PST applies to a given contract, and whether labour is taxable, varies by province and by job — confirm with your accountant. Estiquik is a calculation tool, not tax advice, and is not affiliated with any government body.

Contractor invoicing software for Canada

Invoices the way Canadian clients expect to pay them

Your HST number where it belongs

The business block on every invoice is yours to write — legal name, address, phone, and your GST/HST registration number — and it prints on every document.

e-Transfer, recorded properly

Put your e-Transfer email in the notes or terms, and when the money lands, record the payment with E-transfer as the method. The invoice balance, job costing and QuickBooks all follow.

Card payments at Stripe's Canadian rate

Connect your own Stripe account and emailed invoices carry a Pay by card button. Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ CAD and pays out to your Canadian bank; Estiquik adds nothing.

Holdback on progress billing

Deposit, draws and completion as a payment schedule on the estimate, one invoice per stage. Set a holdback percentage and it is retained from every stage and billed as a final release invoice.

Quote or estimate — your word

Canadians say quote as often as estimate. The document is priced the same way either way: line items, markup, contingency, tax, terms, and an Approve button or e-signature link when you email it.

Regional rates, not US averages

The seven renovation templates carry labour and material rates scaled to your province, as a researched starting point you correct once. Your edits become your baseline; a price list keeps your own rates.

Straight answers

What "Canadian" does and does not mean here

Canadian, in the ways that cost you money

  • Charged in CAD, at a CAD priceNot a USD price converted at checkout, and not a "USD only" page like Jobber's.
  • An Ontario company you can emailTed Kam Consulting Ltd, St. Thomas, Ontario. Support answered by the people who build it.
  • Tax that knows the difference between HST and GST + PSTAll ten provinces and three territories, editable, applied to all or to materials only.
  • e-Transfer and holdback as first-class ideasBecause that is how a Canadian renovation actually gets paid for.

Not Canadian, and we would rather say so

  • Your data is stored in the United StatesGoogle Cloud's multi-region Firestore and Stripe. The sub-processor list and privacy policy say exactly where.
  • English onlyNo French interface or documents yet. Quebec's GST + QST rate is supported.
  • No Interac processinge-Transfers are recorded, not collected. Card payments are the only online collection, through Stripe.
  • One tax rate per documentApplied to everything or to materials only. If you need a different rate on individual lines, you will have to split the document.

Before you ask

Questions Canadian contractors ask

Is Estiquik billed in Canadian dollars?

Yes. Canadian accounts are charged in CAD: Starter CA$24.99 a month or CA$249.99 a year, Pro CA$34.99 or CA$349.99, Crew CA$79.99 or CA$799.99. The price shown at checkout is the price charged, not a US price converted on the day. Sales tax on the subscription is added where it applies. Every plan is on the pricing page.

Does it handle GST, HST, PST and QST?

Estiquik fills in the published base rate for your province or territory — HST in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, GST + PST in BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, GST + QST in Quebec, GST alone in Alberta and the territories. The rate and its label are editable on every estimate and invoice, and the tax can apply to everything or to materials only. It is a calculation tool, not tax advice.

Can my clients pay by Interac e-Transfer?

Your e-Transfer email or instructions go in the invoice's business block or notes, and a payment received by e-Transfer is recorded on the invoice with its own method, so the balance and your job costing stay right. Estiquik does not process e-Transfers itself. Card payments run through your own Stripe account at Stripe's Canadian rate of 2.9% + 30¢ CAD, with nothing added by Estiquik.

Does it handle holdback on progress invoices?

Yes. Set a holdback percentage on the payment schedule and that share is kept back from every stage invoice and billed as a final holdback-release invoice when the job is done. Whether and how much holdback your contract requires is a legal question for your province; Estiquik does the arithmetic.

Where is my data stored?

On Google Cloud in the United States, in a multi-region Firestore deployment, with Stripe handling payments. Estiquik is owned and run from Ontario, but the data itself is not stored in Canada. The privacy policy and sub-processor list say so plainly, so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

Is Estiquik available in French?

Not yet. The app and the documents it produces are in English. Quebec's GST + QST rate is supported.

Are the material and labour prices Canadian?

The seven templates ship with researched starting prices that are scaled by a regional index for your province. Treat them as a starting point, not a quote: every price is editable, your edits become your baseline, and your own price list can fill an estimate's unit prices in a click.

Can I move over from Joist or Jobber?

Yes. Export clients and invoices from either app and drop the files on Estiquik's Import page — it reads their headers, shows a preview, and writes nothing until you say so. Step-by-step in the help centre.
